Washington D.C. – The Governing Majority Education Fund (TGMEF), a 501 (c)(4) dedicated to promoting center-right policy solutions and advancing responsible governance through research and education, announced today that former Members of Congress Rodney Davis (IL) and John Katko (NY) have joined its board of directors.  Davis and Katko join other former Tuesday Group/Republican Governance Group members on the Board of the organization including: John Faso, Jeff Denham, Susan Brooks, Mimi Walters, Erik Paulsen, and Pat Tiberi.

“Throughout their tenure in Congress, Congressman Davis and Katko were two of the most effective Members in building consensus and finding real solutions to some of the most challenging issues facing American families,” said TGMEF Executive Director Drew Kent.  “It is an honor to have them share their knowledge, expertise and voice to our growing efforts.”

“I am proud to have led the Republican Governance Group for five years while serving in Congress. It is this group that will be responsible for ensuring Washington doesn’t grind to a halt in a divided government,” said Katko.  “That is why I am excited to be a part of the Governing Majority Education Fund and our efforts to a responsible governing agenda.”

“As America stares down an unsteady economy and growing threats abroad, it is more important than ever that we support those governing Members of Congress who will fight for and advance responsible policy solutions for the American people,” said Davis.  “I look forward to joining my former colleagues in growing an organization that will continue to have a large impact on public policy in Washington.”

Rodney Davis

Former Congressman Rodney Davis represented Central-Illinois’ 13th Congressional District for five terms.

Rodney served in several leadership positions in Congress, including Ranking Member of the Committee on House Administration, Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, and Deputy Whip for Republican Whip Steve Scalise.

While running from bullets on a baseball field when Steve Scalise and others were shot in 2017 and evacuating from the House chamber on January 6, he witnessed the bravery of our US Capitol Police officers and many others.  Because of these experiences, Davis has been a leading voice for civility in Congress, even in today’s more politically polarizing atmosphere.

Rodney began working for Illinois Congressman John Shimkus on his first day in office in 1997 and served for 16 years as Projects Director, helping communities across Illinois work with the federal government to break through red tape and gain access to federal funding to address their local needs.

John Katko

Former Congressman John Katko represented New York’s 24th Congressional District for five terms.

John served as Ranking Member on the House Homeland Security Committee and chaired the Republican Governance Group for five years where he was responsible for expanding political engagement with results-oriented Members of Congress.

Prior to serving in Congress, John spent nearly 20 years as a federal organized crime prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice. He has extensive experience on the U.S. Northern, Southern, and Maritime borders and served as a litigator with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission and as an anti- trust and commercial litigation attorney in private practice.
